From July 10th 2018 FOMU opens the brand new reading room of the library. The library collection contains more than 30 000 books. The modern reading room is a design by Heijmerink-Wagemakers and Pronk.
From July 10th, the reading room is always open during the opening hours of the museum. Everyone is welcome to browse in our current magazines, newspapers and a selection of photo books.
FOMU has the largest and most specialised collection of photography books in the Dutch language. Besides photo books and books about photography, the collection also includes photography magazines, documentation folders and academic publications. There are works from the earliest days of photography to the most recently published books.
The full list can be found in our catalogue (in Dutch).
If you want to consult our collection before July 10th, please contact email@example.com or +32 (0)3 242 93 18
HOW DOES IT WORK?
The reading room will be open during museum opening hours.
You can consult publications from our academic or museum collection in our reading room by appointment. Please consult our catalogue prior to your visit. Works that you wish to view can be reserved in advance via firstname.lastname@example.org or by telephone: +32 (0)3 242 93 18. Naturally, you can also request works on site.
Book lending is not possible since we want all the works to be available to everyone at all times. You are permitted to scan and take pictures of the works.
You can schedule an appointment from Tuesday through Friday, from 10 am to 5 pm and every first and third Saturday of each month between 10 am and 1 pm (appointments on Saturday are not possible in July and August).*
